Very funny video :D it looks like it was so fun to make! Nice point, I think we've all had that one Christmas when we were more eager to get those presents we knew we were getting than to, for example, spend some time with our family without arguing (because we have the whole "Hey! No fighting, IT'S CHRISTMAS!" excuse). Luckily, I find myself valuing tradition more than the presents I get (don't get me wrong, I love having money for books, but...). For example, Christmas isn't Christmas if I don't cook with my grandma, if I don't play whatever game my cousin thought of that year, or if I don't sit with my entire family watching a Mickey Christmas Classic. It just doesn't feel like Christmas :) still want money for books, though...
Firstly, your video is hilarious! you had me laughing from the beginning and I hope to see more of this kinds of things from you guys. Secondly, even though I don't really agree with the idea of Christmas being to commercialised, I do think you have a point. Some kids nowadays only see Christmas as a time of the year to get gifts and they cry like babies (as you said) if they don't get what they want. I think that kids should be more aware of their family’s economic state and what that means to them so that, even if they don't get what they want, they can still appreciate the holiday as a time to spend with family and recharge energy for the year to come.
We decided to make this video because there are some traditions that are disappearing. Nowadays we let the money move everything and we don't care about the Christmas spirit. Christmas it's all about decorating our houses, being with our family and the last thing that should be on our minds it's the presents we will get.
Hii, I'm Sofia ^^ I think the video is adorable, even though it made me feel kind of bad since I remembered how Christmas seems to be all about money nowadays, like you showed us. Well, yeah, even though it was supposed to be about Christ's birth, most people barely thinl about it, and with the creation of Santa Claus and all, it's true that it's more about giving and having gifts (and spending money) than something else. I suppose that has to do with each people and how they feel about Christmas. Of course everyone likes to have gifts (I can't deny it, since I do like it xD), but that doesn't mean we have to have tons of things that we end up not even using. For example, in my family we do the "Secret Santa" thing (like we do in our class), so everyone gets a present and no one spends to much money (which is also important with all the crisis). Again, it kind of depends on the person, 'cause I think (even though I'm probably being a dreamer) that most of people's favourite part of Christmas is being with their families, eating all together and watch the same movies we watch every year. At least, that's my favourite part (and also being able to stay on the couch close to the fireplace and have no classes, yaaay). You guys are doing an amazing job, keep going! Bye :3
[Suggestions/Questions] Like I said in my previous comment, I think you guys are doing great until now! I like the videos a lot, so I would like if you kept doing them (since I think they're also more interesting for other people). Since you are the teachers, I would like to ask you a question about something of English's grammar that's been bothering me since.. Uh.. Ever, basicaly. And that is the prepositions! Could you explain me how they work? Like, which one should I use in each situation, the different positions there are, etc. Thank you!
I think this is a topic that is real in our lives. I see the stress in my family's eyes and the rush to buy presents to everyone. There are many families who forget about the essence of christmas (the gathering, the good moments, the bonds, the love) and only focus on material things. People should re-evaluate what is really important and start living crishtmas the right way. Hope everyone agrees with me in this topic and merry christmas to all
Hello (: I agree that Christmas is completely different from some years ago. Nowadays, and as you said, kids just want material things without an 'important meaning'. In my opinion, it's horrible when they feel sad because they don't receive anything or what they wanted. I supose that this is your message, so well done!
This is a really important topic nowadays, because people don't see that Christmas is more about love, solidarity, and bonding with other people. Unfortunately, gifts and comsumism are becoming the most important thing, but i think that parents have a responsibility on this because they are the ones who can teach their children what is more important in this time of the year. (José RIbeiro)
Hello! I totaly agree with your video. Christmas is becoming more about presents and stuff and less about friendship love and family. A think the vlog is good. In my opinion you should try and search about more themes related with christmas but i know that you may not have much time to work on it.
Nice video! Nowadays christmas is a time of the year when childrens cry because they don't receive what they want and in my opinion that isn't christmas! Christmas should be the time of the year when family gets together and not the time of the year when everyone receive what they want
In my opinion you should continue posting this type of videos because they entertain people and at the same time they alert for the problems of society.
I like the post! It is true that Christmas is actually a time for family and friends to get together and exchange gifts, but the gifts shouldn´t be only iPhones or smart phones or that type of expensive objects. The real point of Christmas is to remember some of the values existent on our lives that are forgotten several times during the current days in the rest of the year. It´s much more interesting to exchange symbolic gifts between each other, things with a personal importance to us and to the person that is receiving the gift. For example, my family is only exchanging symbolic things on the Christmas holiday and we prefer it just like that because, in that way, we emphasized the real values of Christmas.
So, like I said on the previous comment, christmas is a time for family and friends get together. On that season, I do some of the Portuguese traditions but I also do some foreign ones and, definitely, there a huge amount of foreign traditions that are unknown by the majority of people. In the multicultural world of nowadays, I think that will be interesting approach that theme. So, I challenge the girls responsible for that blog to search and comment about this topic. P.S. – I suggest that you open that link for understand in a better way my point of view: http://www.history.com/topics/christmas/christmas-traditions-worldwide
I suggest that you post more videos about important topics like this one because those videos are really funny and at the same time they makes us think about these problems which is a good thing. Another suggestion that I have is for you to post something about football, because it would be interesting to see what's the girls perspective about the game.
So, as my suggestions for your blog, you could start posting about: -science (like science news and new discoveries), -technology (the recent releases and probably even talk about the new inventions regarding virtual reality), -you could also talk about curiosities about our world (different cultures, things we don´t know about other people,...)
So a question for you guys would be: -there is a topic that i really like to discuss that is that people who watch cartoons/anime are considered childish and immature, which i think is completely wrong. There are cartoons/animes who are directed to young adults and some of them can even be more dramatic and shoking than some real series or movies. What is your opinion about this topic? I hope you understand my position.
Hi girls! I think you came up with a very interesting topic to talk about, especially because we are very close to that time of the year and I am sure we are all waiting to receive at least one of the presents we want. The Christmas spirit changed a lot in the past few years, children (and teens as well) forget about what the Christmas is really about and pay more attention to the presents they receive. I think, just like you showed in your video, that the world is becoming more and more consumerist. Shopping car parks are full and shopping days before the birth of Jesus (i was just trying to say Christmas with other words xD) is impossible. It is important for us to stay humble and to keep your feet on the ground especially now. It is that time of the year where our family comes together and for a moment we forget about our problems, and we should appreciate that because, unfortunately, there are a lot of children that don't have the Christmas we all know and it makes me sad to think about that. Just like every Christmas charity events come up and it makes me really happy to feel like I helped someone (particularly children) especially in this time of the year. I think we should forget about the problems and concentrate in making someones Christmas better, so help someone (It feels great!). Merry Christmas everyone! And be happy. Maria Inês
Hi, i like to see this video because it is a very important topic in our days. Christmas has become a very stressing time of the year, where the all the people want to buy the presents for their familys and friends, and they do everything to get it. But with this, people forget the real essence of christmas that consists in family time, and, in my opinion, that is the most important thing during christmas, because it can bring us good moments and memories full of love. So, to conclude, i think that we have to think twice in what is more important to us on christmas, receiving a present, or receveing love from our family? Hugo Ribeiro
Hey girls! First i would like to compliment your video. It really made me think. Christmas is one of my favourite time of the year. What can be better than having our family together? For me nothing, but it seems that for a bunch of people the most important thing is the presents underneath the christmas tree. Indeed, if we take a look at what surrounds us we notice that people are going crazy over superficial stuff. Society is messing with our head. Commercials make us desire things that we don't need. It is very important that we can distinguish the things that we do need and that our "Santa" can afford and the things that have no use for us and that will probabily be forgotten after one week we have it. The letters to Santa are becoming bigger and bigger. I feel like we are forgetting the essencial. The christmas spirit is originally of union and family. If we stop caring about those things, this date will stop making sense. This year I just wish everyone can pay more attention to the people around them and do something genuinely good for someone. Merry Christmas!
Hello from the other side (of the classroom)! I think the idea of your blog is very well done so you should continue working on this. I just have a suggestion for you. You could post an opinion about our work in the journal, after you read it of course. And you could also make some suggestions for us to improve our work in Trigal. I think it would be very interesting! XoXo
I have a question for you girls... What do you think about gender equality? This is an important topic for our generation so I woul like to see your opinion.
Hey guys, look to that amazing moment on The Human History, that reveals entirely the real spirit of Christmas: http://www.history.com/news/world-war-is-christmas-truce-100-years-ago
Hello Hello again! Now I have a question for you. Why do you think that football is so important in our country nowadays? Because I am a girl, I don't give this topic that much of attention and i would love to see your opinion about it. (you could make a video about it!!!!) :)
Your blogg is very interesting, congratulations! My suggestion is that you keep making those lovely videos, but try topics more diverse. Don't focus only on one thing. Try to conjugate funny stuff with serious issues, that would be perfect. Considering a more serious thing, my question for you is: what do you think about our country allowing homosexual people to addopt children? I will be waiting for your perspective on this topic :)
Hi there, i think it was a great idea making a post about this, because many people don't think about it at all. When we say the word "Christmas" people immediately think about presents and Money.
Hello girls. This video is amazing and fun. I'm sure you had a great camerawoman :). I think the video shows very well what happens nowadays, especially with the younger ones, who gives a lot of importance to material things. But we have to be honest, what is Christmas without presents? Who doesn't want presents in Christmas? Who wants a pair of socks for Christmas? The truth is, even if we don't want, we always have a tendency to associate Christmas to the time that we will receive presents. And is true that the real essence of Christmas is a little bit lost. So I think people should think better about what Christmas is, and perhaps try to change their attitude and live a real Christmas.
I like this kind of post, fun and with music. I think you should continue to post videos like this and with current themes,like Christmas rsrs ..

- You could talk about the many problems that our world face now a days, like pollution and so many other things;
- You could talk about sports, maybe not the more important ones, but one that you like;
And now i have a question for you. Do you think that you can extend these project and make it famous in all the world?
Thanks for the suggestion but remember that we are in the economics area. So we can't make something good about this topic and we don't even like it.
